Rit and Maurice welcome you to their holiday home located in Ravels in the Kempen, close to the Dutch border in a very rural town with beautiful walking and cycling routes.
Our house in our small garden is the place where you can relax after a day of cycling, walking or visiting the area. It has everything to please you. Outside you have your own entrance and your own safe parking, but also a small terrace with table and chairs for breakfast. Or just to enjoy the place and the surroundings with a glass of wine or beer after a busy day. To have more privacy, you can fold out a screen so that you can sit somewhat secluded on your own terrace. You have a view of our garden and the adjacent meadow with sheep, chickens and goats who always come to greet you and always beg for something to eat.
Our holiday home has a mezzanine and an open staircase to it. There is an equipped kitchen where the cook on duty has everything at your disposal to cook, if desired. Kitchen utensils, refrigerator with separate freezer, microwave, induction hob, extractor, a Senseo coffee machine, a coffee maker with thermos and a kettle. There is always coffee and tea ready for you. You also have a large dining table, a spacious sitting area with leather seats, a TV and free WiFi at your disposal.
A heat pump for heating and air conditioning in the summer and a pellet stove for fun when it gets colder.
Downstairs there is also a modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower, toilet and a sink, and equipped with every comfort (hairdryer, towels, soap, shampoo and an electric heater are available).
Upstairs you have a double box-spring bed that can be converted to 2 single beds on request. 2 additional folding beds can be added for children from 7 years old. There is a small storage cupboard and a clothes rack. Sheets are provided. The whole house is tiled. There are also windows in mirror glass so that you can see out, but others cannot see in. Cover with tourist information about the region is ready.
Over the years we have traveled extensively to various destinations in different countries and continents, both privately and also as tour guides and local guides. Now we have time to make your stay as comfortable as possible without interfering with your plans. We can give you information about the region and surroundings if you wish.

Our holiday home was a chicken hatchery from the 1950s to the late 1970s, which fitted well with the mechanical mill of my grandfather and later my father. They had the mill and made sure that all the farmers in the area could have their cereals ground with them into flour and grain for their animals. The eggs came from the farms and were hatched into chicks in this house. In 2015 we completely furnished the holiday home to what it is today: a cozy holiday home in a quiet agricultural town. You can rest and enjoy on the terrace after a day full of cycling and walking pleasure.
It is 10 km from the town of Turnhout and 10 km from the Dutch border.
Within walking distance you have 2 restaurants, a frituur and also a bakery. At 3 km you have several restaurants, sandwich shops, a bakery and supermarkets.
Our holiday home is adjacent to a wooded, quiet area from which you can connect directly to the cycling and hiking nodes, both in Belgium and in the Netherlands. Cycling through a quiet area, between the fields, through the woods to the Netherlands. You come across large farms, in addition to the tranquility of the forests and fields. Beautiful natural areas that we must cherish. If you want something different, you can always go to Turnhout for shopping, restaurants, culture, museums, market. Soak up the cosiness of a Kempen city. Lier and Mechelen are also worth a visit. But we are close to the Netherlands and there you also have very nice, nice villages and towns to discover. 's-Hertogenbosch, Breda, Tilburg and Dordrecht, everything is possible. But also smaller villages such as Hilvarenbeek, Reuzel, Chaam, etc…. There are also theme parks in the area, the Efteling, Bobbejaanland and a zoo: the Beekse Bergen. The holiday home is located in our garden.
